HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! We hope that you all had a fantastic week and have some exciting plans for the weekend. This weekend, we will be trying out some great Valentine’s crafts to get your home ready and beautifully decorated for the special day. We may even give you some great homemade gift ideas, so look out for that early next week! What are you excited for most about Valentines Day? Don’t forget to check out our amazing page dedicated make your holiday special, no matter how you choose to celebrate!

We know how frustrating it can be buying all of the ingredients that your recipe calls for and not being sure if you are ever going to need them again.  If you daring enough, try swapping out ingredients that you think may be a good replacement. It might not always work, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Instead of using milk for your next smoothie or adding butter to your cookies, grab the Greek yogurt in fridge and try that! Not only will you find how well your ingredients can multitask, but you may also find healthier alternatives to what you are currently eating!

If it that time to purchase new appliances consider investing in energy efficient products. Although they tend to cost more upfront, they will save you money in the long run. You will have lower utility bills and even in some cases lower water bills. Given that many of these machines should last between 10 and 20 years, it is definitely worth the investment.

As we already talked about, we are very big fans of DIY projects here! They not only save you money, but they also force you to really put effort into what you are giving/sending to someone. Whether it is a card or a craft, it automatically means just a little bit more because extra thought was put into it. We have some great DIY ideas on our Pinterest Board: DIY Like A Pro for all different occasions!

If you find yourself with extra wine at the end of the night and aren’t sure what to do with it, try freezing it into ice cubes for cooking later. There are a variety of recipes that call for wine, so this will ensure that you have just what you need to make your meal pop! Once you have frozen the wine, take them out of the tray and throw them into a freezer bag for storage, this way you can keep making more…on the rare occasions that you have leftover wine.

As many of you already know, our Headquarters are located 4 short blocks from the beautiful Santa Monica Beach, so we are no strangers to sand. This is one of our favorite tricks to keep our cars and houses clean after a full day on the beach. Next time you are on vacation or just sitting by the ocean, throw a bottle of baby powder in your bag. When you sprinkle the powder on your skin, it will make the sand fall right off. It is perfect when you are ready to eat or leave and don’t want to remnants of the day sticking around. Once you try it, you are never going to leave the house with your baby powder bottle!

Have your own saving trick? Share it with us and it could be featured on the daily Tip Jar.

As always, please have a safe and relaxing weekend.
