The average price of nutrition bars in the United States has doubled in the last decade with the average price being $2.88 per bar. When you go to purchase a month’s worth of protein bars, the costs can add up quickly. So how do you choose the best bars for your money? We at Promocodes put it to the test—from taste-testing to a price analysis—here are some of our favorite protein bars on the market that are well worth their price tag.

RXBAR

RXBARs has lots of flavors to choose from, including chocolate sea salt, chocolate peanut butter, maple sea salt, peanut butter, blueberry, chocolate chip, chocolate coconut, mixed berry, mint chocolate, coffee chocolate, apple cinnamon, chocolate hazelnut, mango pineapple, and peanut butter and berries. (We recommend trying to maple sea salt, mint chocolate, or chocolate peanut butter.)

Each bar only has 3-4 ingredients with “No B.S.”, meaning there are no added flavors, artificial colors, soy, dairy, sugar, or gluten. While the consistency is slightly chewy, the flavors are delicious, and each bar contains about 12 grams of protein. RXBARs are the perfect go-to snack after a workout or to help shake off that afternoon slump.

There are no GMO ingredients, and you can enjoy an average of 10 grams of protein in each bar. With low prices, these bars are a great option to meet your protein needs for the day.

With low costs and great tastes, LARABARs are also a great option. There are very few ingredients in each bar, meaning that you never have to worry about harmful additives. For example, the chocolate chip cookie dough bars are made of only cashews, dates, chocolate chips, and sea salt. Some of the other flavors you can try include chocolate coconut chew, key lime pie, mint chip brownie, peanut butter cookie, and pecan pie. Although the bars only have about 4 grams of protein each, the few ingredients and low cost make it well worth the price.

There are 15 grams of protein in each bar, and they’re also gluten free, high in fiber, and low in sugar. So, for people counting macros, these would make the perfect snack or treat.

With all of the protein bars on the market, it’s difficult to find ones that pack the nutrients that you want without all of the added ingredients that you don’t. On top of that, protein bars need to be more than just edible; they need to be appetizing. These were 5 bars that we at Promocodes enjoyed and found to be well worth the cost.
