Getting Active Without Breaking The Bank

Are you feeling more active? Perhaps it’s the weather – or a sudden urge to try new hobbies outdoors. We can assure you, you don’t need to overspend. The House is stocked to the hilt with stuff for sports equipment: wakeboarding, SUP, and “fat bikes” figure largely on the site.

Oddly enough, with its good price points and large selection, what initially grabbed us about the-house.com was the site’s organization. It’s fantastic: there are “shops” that break everything down into reasonable, manageable, and highly shoppable sections. Basically, you can shop for more stuff, more easily, while spending less time doing it.

Shall we take a tour?

Wake Shop: Whether you’re just getting into wakeboarding, or you have a burning passion for the sport, this is the place to go. I particularly liked the packages, which are suited for gift-giving, as well as for beginners.

Bike Shop: I had no idea there were so many types of bikes available. Sure, I’ve spotted them on the road (and even have one of the cooler types, a foldable bike), but there’s so many on the-house.com… beach cruisers, single speed, fat bikes, commuters, mountain bikes, and comfort bikes for a start, and then an entire section devoted to BMX.

Camping Shop: You don’t need to go anywhere else, but if you were looking for one stand-out in their selection, it would be the tents. Again, and we can’t stress this enough, the site organization makes it so easy to find what you need: it’s divided by per-person capacity, and it goes from one- to five-person+. My favorite tent was the Big House 6, not only because it comes in gold, but because it features a roomy interior.

Skate Shop: Trucks, bearings, shoes, boards, and more! You could probably spend half a day browsing this section alone. I recommend comparing decks and complete skateboards first, and then heading over to the accessories.

And, last but not least, the most fascinating shop of all, called “Free Gear.” It’s an exciting page that lists all the freebies you could score with a purchase, which include watches, headphones, earbuds, or beanies with a purchase of snowboards, skis, wakeboards, waterskis, and surfboards; headphones, a watch, or sunglasses with the purchase of boots or boots and binders ($300 minimum); and lastly, similar deals with clothing orders. You can also scoop up a freebie with the purchase of a bike, so you can’t go wrong.

You can sweeten the deal even further. PromoCodes.com has a few intriguing options, like:

  • 5% off and free shipping: Spend $50 or more and shave off an additional 5%
  • 10% off all Electric brand sunglasses: Find big, bold glasses from Electric for prices starting at $59.95. They’re so cool!

Happy Shopping!
