Horror movie fans everywhere are gearing up for an exciting April - which is going to be full of jumpscares and horror flicks. During this month, we’ll be celebrating Friday the 13th and a surplus of highly anticipated horror movies that are set to be released. If you’re like me, then you can’t wait to check out movies like A Quiet Place, Truth or Dare, and Wildling! I’ve recently discovered that there isn’t anything more unifying than watching a scary movie in a theater full of equally-terrified moviegoers.

While I consider myself to be an experienced horror movie aficionado, there is one thing that routinely scares me away from the big screen - the ridiculously high prices. The average cost of a ticket ranges between $12-$15 each, which quickly increases if you’re seeing a 3D movie or you opt for an IMAX experience. Then, you can expect a ticket to come in at approximately $14-$17 each.

Once you’re inside, the problems only intensify since your favorite candy and snacks are also a whopping $5 a piece. You’ll also be tempted with delicious food items such as nachos, soft pretzels, and hot dogs. By the time the movie starts, you’ll have spent a ton of cash on snacks - just to drop half of it during the first jumpscare.

But fear not! There are ways to get around these prices and experience a great night at the movies without spending your entire paycheck. Horror fans can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to companies like Way, which are made by and for film lovers. This app allows users to find exclusive deals on movie tickets at your local theaters and dinner options at nearby restaurants. To access these features, users simply pay through the Way app with a quick and secure payment method.

Way was designed to open your eyes to local life and encourages you to discover more of what’s around you. In this case, you can discover the jumpscares and nightmare fuel that these horror movies will undoubtedly bring.

While the aforementioned horror movies aren’t out yet, we can still revel in the trailers while anxiously waiting for their April release.
