An alternative—the Patagonia Anti-Black Friday Campaign

Today, Patagonia is holding a Black Friday Worn Wear Party in stores across the U.S. Worn Wear, a film they released earlier this week, details how customers can bypass Black Friday and simply repair the clothes they already own. The company says the short film is “an antidote to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping frenzy, Worn Wear is an invitation to celebration the stuff you already own.”

These parties will feature a repair clinic, in which you can fix up your old clothing, and food, drinks and live music. Black Friday non-participants should look at this as an opportunity to revamp their current wardrobe if they’re choosing a frugal path this holiday shopping season. Today, whether you’re a Black Friday maniac or not, there’s a way for everyone to save.
