Happy weekend! It has been an exciting week hasn’t it?! Celebrity drama, government shutdowns, Noble Peace Prize winners, and even new $100 bills! Well here at Headquarters, we want to wish you an amazing and relaxing weekend. There are only few weeks left until the madness of the Holiday season begins! Start practicing all your savings techniques now to get prepared!

There is just something about painting nails that is so relaxing. I don’t know if it is the ability to match our nails with our outfits or just the ability to make a dramatic but not permanent change to our appearances. The worst part though, is the color lasting only a few days. Next time you do your nails, try soaking your nails in a solution of water and vinegar to remove excess oils and moisturizers on nails. This allows the color to adhere better. Check it out here: http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/style/use-vinegar-to-stretch-nail-polish-dollar.htm

There is nothing worse that opening your fridge to a terrible odor. It definitely can kill an appetite quickly. Get rid of that smell quickly by cutting a lemon in half and placing it in the fridge; it should absorb those unpleasant smells right up . Check out these other great tips by Home Maid Clean to keep your fridge smelling its best.

Save $7 a month by reducing your water heater temperature from 140 degrees to 120 degrees, which is the temperature recommended by the U.S. Department of Energy. It might be a little cooler than we are used to, if noticeable at all, but it will not take long to adjust and you will save money in the end.

Hydrogen peroxide has so many AMAZING household uses, from cleaning stains out of your carpet to killing the bacteria on your toothbrush! Soaking your toothbrush everyday will make sure that your toothbrush doesn’t become a breeding ground for germs. Check out this LiveStrong article about exactly how to do this effectively: http://www.livestrong.com/article/267468-how-to-clean-a-toothbrush/

Cinnamon is an active ingredient in lip plumper, so instead of buying those expensive products, stick to a natural source. You can buy cinnamon oil at the grocery store and get the same effect for a fraction of the cost. Be sure to dilute it with water first though because it is really strong. Even our favorite stars, like Tia and Tamera, use this beauty trick!
