Putting the Lids on This Week's Tip Jars: August 22, 2014

Aloha savvy savers! We hope that you had a wonderful week and have some fun plans for the weekend. We have been very busy here at the PromotionalCodes Headquarters this week, so we thought why not start the weekend with a little Friday luau? Traveling can be a real pain sometimes, especially when you are constantly moving between time zones. Jet lag comes with some nasty side effects and can lead to wasting money and time. Instead of falling victim to its demise, plan accordingly when you are flying. When you are on the flight, eat and sleep according to the time it will be when you land. This way your body will already be synced up. Once you get to your destination, try to get as much natural light as possible so that your body adjusts accordingly.




Losing weight can be a never-ending struggle, and it can add up quickly. One easy and free trick to try is chewing your food more carefully while you are eating. Try chewing each piece 15 times before swallowing. This will allow you to eat slower and be more aware of the food you are consuming. Paired with exercise and this is a great way to stay on top of your diet.




Summer means more time spent outside and more sun exposure. If you are anything like me, that means you are in constant fear of sunburns. Be prepared for the inevitable by freezing little Aloe Vera gel cubes to use after a long day in the sun. All you have to do is fill an ice tray with Aloe for instant relief, and you will never want to use anything else. I have been freezing Aloe for years and this just makes it easier for everyone to use.




There is nothing fun about burning your tongue while you are eating or drinking something hot. It instantly ruins whatever you are trying to consume and frankly hurts. Next time this happens, put some sugar on the burnt area and stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth until the sugar dissolves. This should reduce the pain from the burn and allow you to get back to enjoying your meal.




Instead of worrying about buying soap everywhere you go or checking your bag because you can’t carry on your favorite liquid on board, make your own soap pouch to bring with you. Cut a towel about 4"x11.5" and fold both sides in about 1/2" and sew along the edges. Then fold up one end 3 1/2" and the other end down 4 1/2" and sew along both edges. Flip the pouch inside out, slide the soap bar in, and tuck the flap in to use! Saves you money and you will never be without your favorite soap.
